Interest In Arduinos

Heya humans,

Welcome to my casual blogging page, where I'll be sharing my latest endeavor with you all. So, I recently picked up an Arduino Pro Mini in the blue 5v variant and I'm pretty stoked to use it to make a motion detection alarm system so I can be notified when a family member is near my door. I've dabbled in programming Arduino boards before, but I've never attempted something like this. It's gonna be fun.

So I had two old Arduino Nanos that I was trying to hook up to DuinoCoin. I thought it would be a cool idea to try and use them for something new. But, as it turns out, it didn't work out so well. I ended up letting the two Nanos touch contact points or something, because I came back to see them smoking and the program failing. It was a real bummer.

I tried connecting up the old (somewhat broken) Arduino Nano to program the Pro Mini, but I realised I didn't have the right cables. That sucked. But, I'm not giving up yet. I'll give it another shot once I get my hands on the right cables. In the meantime, I've been thinking of getting an adapter for the Pro Mini to make programming a little easier.
